ADB support
Appreciating the ongoing development activities in Sikkim, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has assured its support to the state government.

Director general of Asia Development Bank, Mr Robert Destany, who was in Gangtok today, called on the chief minister Mr Pawan Kumar Chamling and assured him of extending support to the state’s infrastructure development. Mr. Destany expressed his appreciation of the development activities undertaken in Sikkim.

Senior officials of ADB including Mr Ajay Sagar, head of public sector and finance and Mr Hirani Mukhopadhaya, were also present at the meeting.

The chief minister thanked Mr Destany for his visit to the state and discussed with him issues relating to tourism, industry, power, agriculture and horticulture.

Mr Chamling told the ADB officials that Sikkim is a small and peaceful state with lots of potential in natural resources and also expressed his interest to explore it for the benefit of the common people.
